A single conventional strawberry can have up to 20 different pesticides.

The solution: eat organic and local.

It could be overwhelming to make sure every single thing is organic, so to start just focus on the dirty dozen. Every year the EWG releases a list of the 12 fruits and vegetables with the highest pesticide content. If you focus on eating organic for those, you will be avoiding the vast majority of pesticides in produce!

Dirty Dozen:

1. Strawberries
2. Spinach
3. Nectarines
4. Apples
5. Peaches
6. Pears
7. Cherries
8. Grapes
9. Celery
10. Tomatoes
11. Sweet bell peppers
12. Potatoes
